Scena Terms of Use
Welcome to Scena. By downloading, accessing, or using the Scena app, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to all of these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please stop using our service.
1. Account & Identity
- Age: Users must be at least 18 years old. By registering and ticking the age confirmation box, you declare that you meet this age requirement. If we find a user under 18, the account will be suspended and deleted immediately.
- Accurate Data & Roles: You must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information when registering. Your selected "Brewing Role" (e.g. Cafe Owner, Coffee Farmer) must reflect reality. Impersonation or a false role may lead to removal of your verification badge or suspension of your account.
- Security Verification: Scena may require account verification via a one-time password (OTP) sent by SMS or email to confirm that users are genuine.
- Credential Security: You are fully responsible for keeping your password confidential. You are fully responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
2. Content Standards & Community Conduct
Scena is a dedicated space for the coffee community. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users, and strictly prohibit posts or actions that contain:
- Hate, Violence & Pornography: Any content that attacks ethnicity, race, or religion, spreads hatred, or is sexually explicit or indecent.
- Illegal Substances: Any promotion, sale, or instruction on the use of narcotics or other illegal substances (including when disguised with local terms or variety names).
- Intellectual Property: You guarantee that the photos, recipes, and writing you upload are your own or that you hold a valid license to use them.
- System Abuse (Anti-Hacking): You must not reverse engineer the app, manipulate the Feed algorithm, spam, file false reports, or attempt to guess or access high-level administrator security portals (System Guard).
You can report any content or user from the "..." menu, and block any user from their profile. Reported content is reviewed by our moderators within 24 hours, and offending content is removed and its author may be banned.
3. License to User Content
By uploading photos, videos, recipes, or other content to Scena, you grant Scena a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, sublicensable license to display, distribute, store, and promote that content solely in the context of operating the Scena platform.
You remain the full owner of the content you create. This license ends automatically when you delete the content or close your account, except for content that was shared with other users before deletion.
4. Marketplace & Partnerships
This is essential for safe transactions on the platform:
- Scena's Role: Scena only provides information and acts as a communication intermediary. We are not a payment provider (escrow) and take no commission from your transactions.
- Transaction Risk: Any loss arising from a transaction (such as fraud, damaged goods, or breach of a partnership agreement) is entirely the responsibility of the Buyer and the Seller/Partner.
- Safety Recommendation: We strongly recommend Cash on Delivery (COD), meeting in person, or thorough identity verification before transferring money to anyone.
5. Location, Maps & Content Privacy
By enabling location features, you agree that your approximate location (or your product's location) will be shown to other users to power the "Explore" and "Near You" features.
User Control: You can limit this visibility at any time by enabling "Ghost Mode" (hides your location on the map) or "Private Account" (limits who can see your recipes and content) in Settings.
6. Moderation Rights & Sanctions
Scena administrators have the absolute right to:
- Remove posts, products, or recipes without prior notice if they violate the community rules.
- Temporarily suspend (Freeze) or permanently delete (Ban) accounts involved in activity that harms the community, detected by our security systems (Intrusion Detection), or that breaks the law.
- Enable Maintenance Mode, which may temporarily limit access to the service for network maintenance.
- Grant or revoke verification status (badge) based on valid documents submitted by users.
7. Account Deletion & Data Retention
You can request permanent deletion of your account from Settings. Deletion happens in stages:
- Grace Period: Once the request is received, the account enters "Pending Deletion" status for 30 days. During this period your account is not visible to the public.
- Account Recovery: You can cancel the deletion and restore your account by logging in again within those 30 days. A confirmation email with recovery information is also sent to your registered email address.
- Permanent Deletion: After 30 days, all account data — including your profile, content, recipes, and transaction history — is permanently deleted from our servers (Firebase, Cloudflare R2, and Cloudflare D1) and cannot be recovered.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Scena platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for:
- Server disruptions, downtime, or data loss caused by system maintenance or third-party failures (Google Firebase, Cloudflare).
- Inaccurate information provided by other users in recipes, profile descriptions, or product listings.
9. Export Compliance & Encryption
Scena uses industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) to transmit data between your device and our servers. The app contains no cryptography subject to special export regulations beyond standard HTTPS/TLS.
10. Apple Platform (App Store) Terms
If you download and use Scena through the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:
- Apple Inc. is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms of Use and has the right to enforce them against you as the end user.
- Apple is not responsible for the Scena app, its content, or any claims relating to your use of the app.
- If these Terms of Use conflict with Apple's App Store Terms of Service, Apple's App Store Terms of Service prevail.
- Scena, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app, its content, and its services.
11. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Any dispute will be settled amicably, or through the competent courts within the jurisdiction of the Republic of Indonesia.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. An in-app notification will be sent for any significant change. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the new terms.
